The recycled padding with unique insulating properties
A new frontier in mindful fashion and sportswear, NOUVELLE adopts an upcycling approach wherein leftover printed silk fabrics are repurposed to create a new insulating material.
THE PROCESS BEHIND NOUVELLE
Nouvelle is created in four steps:
- We collect as “end of waste” silk fabrics scraps from leftover silk fabrics rolls.
- We mechanically garnet and transform the scraps into very fine fibers
- We then make a decolor process with GOTS approved substances
- Finally we blend the fibers with PLA (polylactic fibre)
This upcycled insulation allows the creation of very light paddings that have unique thermal insulating properties.
